Practical guide
Merge PDF files in the right order
When an application, report, or submission contains several documents, combining them into one PDF avoids loose attachments and makes it easier to review. Add at least two files, arrange the list, and download one document when processing is complete.
When one PDF makes things clearer
- Combine forms, supporting documents, and appendices for an application.
- Prepare an academic submission or portfolio in the reading order you intend.
- Bring together scanned pages or signed documents before sharing them.
How to merge PDFs
- 1
Add every document
Select two or more PDF files from your device.
- 2
Check and arrange the list
The file sequence becomes the sequence in the final PDF. Move items and remove anything that should not be included.
- 3
Create and download the PDF
When the new document is ready, download it and check its first, last, and joining pages.
Before you share a combined document
- Check that no appendix has been duplicated and that the order matches the recipient’s instructions.
- The tool creates a new file. Keep the individual PDFs until you have confirmed the combined document is correct.
- If you only need to change the order of pages inside one document, use the page reorder tool instead.
Questions about merging PDFs
- Can I choose the document order?
- Yes. Check and adjust the list before creating the PDF; that order is used in the result.
- Can I merge PDFs with sensitive information?
- Selected files are processed in the browser. Still, review the finished document before sharing it.
- Are my original files deleted?
- No. The result is a new copy and the source documents are not modified.
Need to adjust pages inside one document? Use reorder PDF pages.
